Mohammed's "Smart Irrigation System" consists of an elevated water tank feeding a main pipeline to maintain pressure, along with sub-irrigation networks equipped with electric water valves and soil moisture sensors. Mohammed explains, "The system allows for automatic and precise watering of plants, which can be controlled and monitored via a smartphone app and website." He adds, "Despite the challenges, I am working with the basic equipment available to me and aim to expand the system to cover large areas across Yemen."
Mohammed has faced numerous challenges in his journey but has persisted in improving his system. He received a small financial grant from the Bridge Project, along with training that significantly enhanced his technical and managerial skills. Mohammed says, "The training and financial support have been instrumental in refining the system. Guidance and mentorship were crucial for the progress I've made."
